CASE REPORT Echocardiographic Diagnosis of Ruptured Aneurysm of Sinus of Valsalva Report of Two Cases

چکیده
Echocardiographic features of two cases of ruptured congenital aneurysm of Valsalva sinus with (case I) and without (case 2) a supracristal ventricular septal defect were studied before and after surgery by standard echocardiography, M-mode scan and twodimensional echocardiography. Discontinuity was observed in the echo from the aneurysm wall of the Valsalva sinus in case I with ruptured aneurysm, but was not observed in a similar case of unruptured aneurysm. Herniation of the right coronary cusp of the aortic valve into the right ventricular outflow tract was also observed in

Bicuspid Aortic Valve: An Unusual Cause of Aneurysm of Left Coronary Sinus of Valsalva
Bicuspid aortic valve is traditionally considered an innocuous congenital anomaly. Due to a better and widespread availability of non-invasive imaging techniques, it has come to the fore that 30% of these cases develop complications, viz., valve abnormality (aortic regurgitation and stenosis), and aneurysm of aortic root and ascending aorta. Sinus of Valsalva aneurysm is an uncommon complicatio...
متن کاملAn Unusual Case of Sinus of Valsalva Aneurysm in a GUCH Patient: An Unusual Side of the Aorto-Cardiac Fistula
Sinus of Valsalva aneurysm can be congenital or acquired. The major complication is rupture: this can represent an evolution or an abrupt event. In case of rupture or of large aneurysm, a surgical approach is justified. We report a case of ruptured sinus of Valsalva aneurysm in a seventeen years old girl, who had underwent surgical correction of Fallot tetralogy. As soon as the rupture of sinus...
متن کاملUnusual case of ruptured sinus of valsalva aneurysm in a pregnant woman
Sinus of Valsalva aneurysms are extremely rare, and usually of a congenital nature. There are few documented cases of this condition during pregnancy, which renders unclear the therapeutic options. We here report the case of a 26 years old pregnant woman who was referred to our cardiac center for the evaluation of a heart murmur. The two-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography allowed quickl...
متن کاملA Case Report of Ruptured Superficial Femoral Artery Aneurysm
Single superficial femoral artery (SFA) aneurysm is rare and occurs in approximately 5 per 100,000 patients. Rupture is a rare complication in this aneurysm. In this case report, we present the diagnostic and therapeutic work up of a ruptured SFA aneurysm of the right lower limb in a 75-year-old diabetic man with ischemic heart disease. Pre-surgical diagnosis was through physical examination fi...

Sinus of valsalva aneurysm, is a rare congenital defect and the diagnosis is usually made after it ruptures. The anomaly often involves the right coronary sinus and is less frequent in the noncoronary sinus. The rupture of the left sinus of valsalva into the pulmonary artery is extremely rare. So far, few cases with ruptured left sinus of valsalva have been reported. We are reporting a ruptur...
